The first part of the biography of Edna St. Vincent Millay was pretty amazing. It essentially covered Millay’s extended family and from her birth through age nineteen. It ends with an incredible poem of hers that basically put her on the map, Renascence. I had never seen this word until I read the poem last month, but the biography pointed out that Millay originally titled the poem Renaissance, and an editor changed it to the new spelling which is English instead of French. Anyways, this has been a great biography and has motivated me to read more of them. I can’t wait to see what things happened in Millay’s life after she was discovered.
