Roses On A Briar

Just a quick excerpt. I am starting to wonder if posting just a single stanza from a large poem is an injustice or not. Perhaps I should offer some brief commentary on the stanzas I quote and why I selected them to repeat here. I enjoyed the insight into nature in this one.

Roses on a briar,
Pearls from out the bitter sea,
Such is earth’s desire
However pure it be.

~ Christina Rossetti
