Renascence: An Excerpt

Edna St. Vincent Millay is one of the poets I have really been looking forward to reading. While making some photocopies at work, the English teacher sent through a small print job which included one of Millay’s sonnets. How coincidental that the day I chose to read this poet, her poetry would happen to print out in front of my very eyes… Here are a few lines from a beautiful poem by her: Renascence.

The world stands out on either side
No wider than the heart is wide;
Above the world is stretched the sky, –
No higher than the soul is high.

~ Millay
